KI Services
DAILY SERVICES
Congregation Kehillath Israel conducts morning and evening services 7 days per week, at times listed below. We invite you to join our daily minyan, held in the Rabb Chapel, by entering our main, ground floor level, entrance, at the end of the walkway on the right side of the building, and then going in the glass doors to the left. Sunday evening minyan is held at 100 Centre Street, Hebrew SeniorLife housing, in the Community Room. Get someone to let you into the building and then go all the way down the corridor to the right, and the room entrance is at the right at the end. Minyan goers are of all ages, some being mourners or people with yahrtzeit wishing to say kaddish, but many others are solely seeking prayerful moments in our warm, community, setting. We welcome newcomers to join us, a great way to start or end the day.
KI members maintain an informal listserv to communicate about minyan issues and related matters that subscribers might find interesting. (It is, for example, a good place to announce a forthcoming yahrzeit to help ensure a minyan on that day.) Anyone interested in the minyan is welcome to subscribe, even if you are not a KI member. WEEKLY AND FESTIVAL SERVICES
Shabbat morning and Festival morning services are held in our Main Sanctuary, up the rightmost set of concrete stairs on Harvard Street.
If you are unable to climb stairs, please see the KI Access page on this website for information about elevator service. Should the elevator not be running, we also have a powered chair available.
JOIN WITH US AFTERWARDS
We sometimes serve coffee and bagels and other noshes, after morning minyan. We always serve kiddush with wine after Friday night services, and a buffet kiddush after Shabbat morning and Festival morning services. These allow regulars to greet first time attendees and for people to simply enjoy each other's friendship.
We look forward to welcoming you into our "ever-widening circle."
Hazzan Search
We have established a Search Committee to find a new full-time Cantor/Spiritual Leader. Periodically, candidates will be invited to lead us over a weekend. Details will be announced in the KI Weekly News.
We are blessed with a large number of wonderful young people eager to lead Shir HaKavod at Shabbat services. If you'd like to lead Shir HaKavod on an upcoming Shabbat, please call the KI office.
To give everyone a chance, we will assign you no more than one Shabbat every two months.
Thanks!!!!!!
